Life flows, bends, and sometimes spins endlessly in circles. We all have countless dreams and visions whose paths are not yet revealed, so we are destined to wander in the dark with our hands stretched out hoping to touch something real. If somebody saw us, they wouldn't know if we were searching, defending ourselves, or trying to hug a life that hasn't yet arrived where we need it most.
The point is, life is unpredictable, and we are rarely firmly at the wheel. But maybe this isn't our design flaw, maybe it's part of the design itself. Whenever I try to get what I want forcefully, without adjusting my course, I miss it completely. But if I take my time, stay open, learn, and change, I can get where I want to be.
There is a famous Croatian song whose lyrics I absolutely adore: “Da sam barem tamo gdje sam bio kad sam htio biti ovdje.” Translated into English, this means: “I wish I were where I was when I wanted to be here.” Without the complete journey, the goal is like smoke without warmth and light; like water that makes you wet, but not clean.
So don't keep your eyes only on the prize—let them wander through the landscape of becoming—and you will keep moving forward.
