The Seed of Hope | New Moon in Capricorn

December 30th, 4:26pm CT

The New Moon represents a beginning; the Universe allows new intentions, ventures, and stories to be told.

On this day, as cultivators of happiness, we plant the seeds we want to see bloom in the future; as writers of our fate, we leave little messages we want to read in the future; as creators of our fortune, we lay bricks for projects we want in our lives. In the next two weeks, the nights will get brighter and brighter, showing us the path through our inner cosmos, and enlightening the world around us.

The last lunation, Full Moon in Cancer poured intuition into our ability to think ahead and prioritize. Now, the collective energy is focused on building upon the foundation of compassion. Whatever we commit to during this time will be easier to stick to. Capricornian energy never gives up, it keeps going until the goal is accomplished. But it also teaches us valuable lessons about letting go of the ego and focusing on the dreams that better the world.

It is a perfect time to set your dreams in motion with the little help of Capricornian consistency.

New Moon Ritual

Capricorn is an earth sign grounded in its aspirations and ability to achieve them. To take advantage of this New Moon we must prepare our space for new achievements.

Consistency is an invisible force that turns imagination into reality. A New Moon wipes the slate clean and opens up the gates of possibilities. Take out the pen and paper and write everything you are ready to commit to. Under each commitment state what you need for the dream to become a reality. Maybe you will have to rearrange your space to accommodate a new activity, perhaps you will need to go shopping, or maybe you will have to (re)connect with people who bring the energy you need.

Capricornian Beginnings

Outer:

  • prioritizing community over personal achievements
  • rearranging your space to accommodate your aspirations
  • respecting people who teach us how to preserve our integrity
  • inviting people who bring the energy of 'doing' into your life

Inner:

  • valuing your abilities and skills more highly
  • saying 'no' to things that don't fit your goals
  • staying consistent even when the environment is making it hard for you
  • acquiring new knowledge that strengthens your higher self
